When Hampus Lindholm was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks at the March 21st NHL Trade Deadline, it instantly made Boston's top defence pairing one of the best in the league.

Paired alongside Charlie McAvoy (who I believe has been a top-5 defenseman in the NHL for the past few seasons), the Bruins' top pair has turned into a minute-munching two-way threat on the backend.

McAvoy was made available to the media this morning and was asked about his initial thoughts on his new d-partner:

"I think we're still early in the process, you know, so still trying to gather that and improve on our chemistry ... He wants to have the puck, he wants to make plays, [and] when he's breaking it out he can really be a one-man breakout. I think that allows me to support on the other side of the ice and when I have a chance to try [offensively]."

McAvoy also commented on his recent offensive surge and how the powerplay has had some good looks and chances, but the team just needs one to go in.
