The San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights have made quite the West Coast rivalry in the short amount of time Vegas has been in the NHL.

The Knights and Sharks faced off in consecutive postseasons; Vegas came out on top in 2018 and then San Jose in 2019.

The 2019 series didn't come without its controversy, though, and basically what started this heated rivalry. In game seven of the first-round series, with 9:13 left in the third period, the Knights led a seemingly lifeless Sharks team 3-0.

Then Knights forward Cody Eakin was issued a five-minute major penalty and an ejection. San Jose would go on to score four powerplay goals within those five minutes and eventually eliminate Vegas in overtime.

And who could forget the battles between Evander Kane and Ryan Reaves over the years:

The most recent battle between the two was when the already eliminated Sharks had a chance to ruin the Golden Knights' playoff hopes. Vegas was leading 4-3, and with San Jose's goalie pulled, the Sharks were able to score with under one second remaining and eventually win the game in a shootout. It was a must-win for Vegas, who was on the brink of missing the playoffs for the first time in their franchise's history.

Two more consecutive shootout losses eventually eliminated the Golden Knights from playoff contention last night.

That didn't stop the Sharks from trolling the Knights on their jumbotron during a game against the Anaheim Ducks on April 26th. Read the first letter of each word to find the San Jose's hidden message for Vegas:

In case you couldn't piece it together, the message read: F**K THE KNIGHTS, in the most subtle way, of course.
