The Bruins did not have much time to celebrate their 3-2 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings as they are right back at it against the Washington Capitals tonight.
David Pastrnak scored both Bruins goals in a 3-2 loss to the Capitals back in early November.
Tonight will mark the fourth time this season in which the Bruins will play on consecutive days. They are 2-1-1 in the first game of back-to-backs and 1-2-0 in the second game. They enter tonight's game winner of nine of their last 11 games and are 4-1-0 on their last five games at the TD Garden.
The Capitals come into Boston off a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night and have gone 8-2-0 over their last 10 games. They currently have a 10-game winning streak over the Bruins which began on October 11, 2014. No other team has a perfect record with double digit wins against any other opponent over the last four seasons in the NHL
Braden Holtby will start for the Capitals and even though his numbers are down a bit from what we are used to seeing from him, he has flat owned the Bruins in his career. Holbty is 12-2-0 with a 1.81 goals-against average, a .944 save percentage and three shutouts versus the Bruins.
