The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes' were tied at ones after the first period of their Sunday afternoon matchup. After the final horn for the period, it seemed as if a couple of players shared some expressive words.
Hurricanes' defenseman Tony DeAngelo has a history of disciplinary issues. He was suspended twice during his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League. The problems included violating the league's policy covering "homophobic, racist, and sexist language" and abuse of officials.
The defenseman was placed on waivers by the New York Rangers following an altercation between him and goaltender Alexandar Georgiev. Georgiev apparently punched the defenseman in the face after he blamed him for a 5-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. This also came after DeAngelo put up 15 goals and 38 assists in just 68 games the season before.
Can you read lips? It appears that Marchand wasn't letting DeAngelo forget about his troubled past of racism problems. But honestly, good on Marchy; there's no room for that anywhere in the world today!
