One Bruins prospect is making waves right now, as he was recently awarded AHL Player of the Week on Monday.
As per AHL.com:
''The American Hockey League announced today that Providence Bruins forward Georgii Merkulov has been selected as the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 12, 2023.''
Merkulov, 22, recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in just 2 games with the Bruins last week. Not only that, but the prospect also has goals in 5 straight contests and 7 in total over that span.
In 43 games for Providence this season, the Russian has registered 14 goals and 21 assists, putting him in a tie for fourth among AHL rookies in scoring.
