After his four-point effort in the Colorado Avalanche's 8-6 victory in game one over the Edmonton Oilers, defenseman Cale Makar joined some elite company in playoff history.
Makar also added one point in a 4-0 win in game two to collect his 48th playoff point in his 47th career game. The young defenseman is now fifth in playoff points for active players under the age of 24. Depending on how far the Avalanche goes in the 2022 playoffs, Makar has the chance to pass both Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to move up to third behind Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
Makar currently has 4 goals and 13 assists in 12 games of the 2022 playoffs. He doesn't turn 24 until October.
