Cassidy on his team's effort in nine-round shootout loss to Rangers

It was one for the ages at MSG on Tuesday night as the Bruins and Rangers needed a nine-round shootout sequence to decide a winner. In the end, K'Andre Miller -- making his first ever NHL shootout attempt -- broke the tie with a crafty deke of Jeremy Swayman.

The game was so good, we thought we'd share a link to the highlights. The shootout sequence starts at the 5:23 mark.

Tough loss for the Bruins and for Swayman in particular, who went save-to-save with the Rangers' Igor Shesterkin, a sure candidate for the Vezina Trophy this season. Following the game, Coach Bruce Cassidy offered his thoughts on Swayman:

Cassidy also had high praise for the Frederic-Coyle-Smith trio who have stepped up in the absence of stars Bergeron and Marchand:

The Bruins next take to the ice on Thursday, again in New York, against the Islanders and there's a chance that Bergeron may return to the lineup.
