Cassidy shares the only player he was happy with last night
Last night's loss was a difficult one for our fan base, watching the Canes take it to the Bruins' while Frederik Andersen, a goalie the Bruins have historically owned, stood tall all night. Everyone knew it was going to be a tough game without Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron, but what people didn't expect was the lack of fight the Bruins showed.
Nights like tonight were exactly why the Bruins went out and added Nick Foligno in the off season for his leadership abilities, but tonight they weren't evident. During his post game press conference Bruce Cassidy shared the following thoughts.
On Marchand
"We don't like it when Marchand's suspended, but we sure as hell would have liked him out there tonight to drag us into the fight because there really wasn't much of it (fight) tonight."
On Charlie McAvoy
"I'll give Charlies McAvoy a ton of credit he's one guy who tried to step up, play hard and clean, got challenged and there just wasn't enough pushback."
On how the Bruins get by without Marchy and Bergy
"We're going to need a lot more pushback from guys we expect to pushback veterans and even other guys who haven't been around long."
The Bruins are in Ottawa Saturday for an afternoon tilt against the surging Senators.
