Bruins demote one player and recall another
The Boston Bruins officially announced Friday morning that the team had recalled defenseman Jack Ahcan from the Providence Bruins. Ahcan, who only stands at 5'8, is 24-years old. The 24 year old has 5 goals and 19 points this season in the AHL. Ahcan has played in 5 NHL games with Boston.
In a corresponding move the Bruins demoted Tyler Lewington to Providence. Lewington has only managed to get into 2 games for the Bruins this season, his last being January 15th against the Nashville Predators. The 27-year old Lewingston has 1 goal and 3 assists for Providence in 26 AHL games this season.
With the injury to Matt Grzelyck it is expected that Ahcan could get into the Bruins lineup as early as tomorrow in Ottawa.
