Tony DeAngelo will not be playing for the Boston Bruins this upcoming season, matter of fact he will not be playing in the NHL at all.
DeAngelo is known for being a controversial defenseman around the league, and he has now taken his talents overseas after signing a contract with the SKA St. Petersburg.
During the off-season, there was a lot of talks that Tony DeAngelo might be leaving the NHL, and DeAngelo kept shutting them down. But it seems like no teams were interested in him as he is now going to play overseas.
DeAngelo has spoken out on social media after signing with SKA St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg is the same team that Evgeny Kuznetsov went and signed with in the off-season as well, so he will be reuniting with his former teammate from last season on the Carolina Hurricanes.
As reported by NY Rangers Insider, DeAngelo will be the sixth player on the St. Petersburg roster that has had ties to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Sadly, DeAngelo wasn't able to keep himself out of controversy, which ultimately led to him not being able to get another NHL contract. Such a shame as he has so much talent.
Maybe in the near future we will see him back in the NHL.
