Last week we heard that Tuukka Rask was finalizing a deal with the Boston Bruins.

It made sense as Rask has been practicing with the team and head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters there was a plan in place for Rask.

Cassidy revealed thatRask would do a quick stint with Providence in the AHL in the upcoming week or so before joining the Bruins.

Some red flags were raised as Cam Neely mentioned publicly that there has been no contract talks between the Bruins and Rask.

Rask's agent mentioned the same thing over the weekend.

"No deal in place for Tuukka'" replied agent Markus Lehto to a request from Boston Hockey Now.

With that news out, Cassidy was asked about the situation again on Tuesday and Cassidy once again implied that Rask will be signing.

"The immediate plan is he's here; he's going to practice with us this week," Cassidy said. He will not travel with us to Tampa or Washington. I think there will be a conversation then, with Donny [Sweeney] about Providence. I think it's the best opportunity for him to get live-action. So they'll have that discussion. I know it's been thrown out there whether it happens or not. between Tuukka and his reps and Donny, but that would be the timeline if he's gonna go down there, given everything else is on schedule.

Obviously, it depends on when he is cleared for live-action. It doesn't matter whether it's the American League or the NHL, he needs to be cleared. So, that's the next hurdle for him is clearance to play, but that would be the timeline that they're all hoping for."

Do you think it's still pretty much guaranteed Rask signs with Boston?
