David Krejci takes a shot at Bruce Cassidy
Did David Krejci just confirm that Bruce Cassidy's firing was his reason for coming back?
The Bruins dominated the Flyers 6-0 in Krejci's 1000th game, and the veteran led the way with 3 assists.
Postgame, Krejci threw some shade at his former coach, who was fired after last season. As per Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub:
Krejci: «I like the mentality of this team .. The coaching change helped a lot.
Here is Krejci's full quote:
''I'm very thankful and grateful that they gave me a call in the summer to come back. Obviously there's some expectations, but I'm just glad with the way the team is playing. The record speaks for itself. I feel this could be a special year. We know what we have in this room, we don't take it for granted, and we'll see how it goes. But I like the mentality of this team to stay in the moment, take it game-by-game. Practices have been good. Obviously, the coaching change helped a lot. We're obviously feeling good.''
Along with Krejci coming back after a year off and Jake Debrusk rescinding his trade request, the coincidences don't seem as much like coincidences anymore.
