Some things are bigger than hockey, and this is one of them.
Sure, Nazem Kadri has his history of dirty plays and receiving supplementary discipline, but his race should have absolutely nothing to do with that.
A collision between Kadri and Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington in game three forced the netminder out of the game and the rest of the series because of a bad knee sprain. After the game, Kadri received several death threats and racial slurs from St. Louis fans for what looked like an accidental collision.
Kadri's wife, Ashley, shared screenshots of some of the message's that Nazem received from racist fans on an Instagram account with the name Jazzy Kadri:
Here's a closer look at some of the messages. These are absolutely disgusting and do not belong in hockey or anywhere in the world, for that matter.
How can people get so mad over a hockey game that they think they need to send racist and death threats to a player? Kadri has shown that he tends to take the high road in situations like these, which shows what kind of guy he really is.
