At the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, the NHL decided to partner with Fanatics as the new jersey manufacturer, after the contract with Adidas had ended.
Fanatics has begun to unveil price points for their Authentic Pro, Premium, Breakaway, and Practice jersey.
While the latter three options are more affordable, fans will break the bank if they want an Authentic Pro.
The price point? $425 USD-$500 CAD.
The concerns arise, as the Authentic Pro tier, is the costliest of them all for fans in Canada and the United States. It's pricing them out of owning something that represents their passion, their team's crest.
Hockey fans have a lot of fans who work for a living and don't typically have $400 or more lying around daily to buy a jersey at this price.
While the latter three tiers are more affordable, there's still more to consider as some fans just can't wing that price, with growing costs of food, medicine, and housing.
The Premium tier will go for $180 in the US and $200 in Canada, which is less of an agonizing price, but the points remain.
There's no telling of the quality involved, as Fanatics has been involved in the MLB jersey scandal as recently as 2023.
