Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito made a surprising admission regarding the trade he made with the Boston Bruins for Brad Marchand.

Both the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers teamed up for what was the biggest deal during the NHL trade deadline. Boston ended up sending shockwaves throughout the hockey community when they announced that Brad Marchand was heading to the Florida Panthers.

Bill Zito's surprising admission about the Marchand trade

General Manager Bill Zito spoke about the Marchand trade Sunday on TNT, and he admitted that there was a moment he wasn't sure if the trade was going to go through with how close they were to the end of the deadline.
«We got it in a few minutes ahead of time,» Zito said. «You get an e-mail receipt back. There was maybe a moment or two there where it was like, 'Did it go through?' Those types of things. But it was fine. Once we got our receipt, we knew we were OK.»

Brad Marchand told the Boston Bruins that the Florida Panthers were the only team that he wanted to play for whenever he realized that his tenure with the Bruins was coming to an end.
The former captain admired the commitment the Florida Panthers have to win, and will now join a pair of his former linemates in Shawn Thorton and Gregory Campbell as they work for the Panthers organization.
Marchand is still dealing with an upper-body injury, and it's unclear when he will make his debut with the Florida Panthers, but when he does, he is going to have a massive impact on the team as they look to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions.
