Even though Chychrun requested a trade out of Arizona, he was still proudly displaying that he was part of the organization on his social media accounts. Until just yesterday, when he removed all affiliations from the team on his Instagram (see below):
Since the removal of ''Arizona Coyotes #6'' in his profile, one fan shared that he has also followed several Maple Leafs players on his account, pointing to him starting a ''relationship'' with potential new teammates.
Of course, this is all speculation, as Auston Matthews is from Arizona, and Chyrchrun was previously teammates with Michael Bunting on the Coyotes. That wasn't it, however, as another fan noticed that Oilers captain Connor McDavid also followed Chychrun on Twitter shortly after, as well.
I honestly think this means nothing, as players are friends with fellow NHLers for several different reasons. These are all just rumours for now, and it will stay that way until something is confirmed.
