Recently transcripts of the 2015 deposition regarding former players, NHL owners and CTE were obtained by TSN and among them were BostonBruins' owner Jeremy Jacobs testimony.
Jacobs along with four other NHL owners testified under oath about how the NHL handles concussions.
His answers have hockey fans pretty upset, especially when you consider the fact that fan favourite Marc Savard's career was ended because of concussion issues.
Lawyer
- Have you ever heard of the neurodegenerative disease known as CTE?
Jacobs
- No
Lawyer
- Are you aware CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, has been found in the brains of former professional football players.
Jacobs
- I don't know
Lawyer
- How about former professional hockey players?
Jacobs
- I don't think so. I don't know"
CTE had been found in the brains of former NHLers Reggie Fleming, Rick Martin, BobProbert and Steve Montador before the deposition.
Cleary Jacobs had been prepped by NHL lawyers on how to answer, and Jacobs is just protecting the league.
What do you think of the B's owners' comments?
