Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand lost his cool on an NHL referee last night after what should have been an automatic penalty on the New York Rangers was not called.

Right now the Boston Bruins are in a dogfight for a wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference, and it seems like nothing is going the Bruins way right now, including not getting calls from officials, which happened last night when the Bruins took on the New York Rangers.

All season, the Bruins have been facing a lot of trade rumours, which makes sense considering how terrible they have been this season, and last night losing to the Rangers 3-2 in regulation did not help them.

Brad Marchand was featured in a post-game locker room interview, and called out the referees after an altercation broke out in the third period, and he was the only one to get a call even though Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller took his helmet off.

Brad Marchand calls out the referees

"I was just questioning him about when a guy pulls your helmet off, it's an automatic penalty. So I was just curious why they didn't call it when it's automatic."

Marchand stated he had no problem with his penalty, but was furious that Miller wasn't called as well for taking his helmet off.

"That's an automatic call. So I don't know why it wouldn't be called."

The Bruins currently sit tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the standings with 60 points for the last wildcard spot, but every team has games in hand on the Bruins this year.

Things aren't looking good for the club, and all signs point to them selling, or 're-tooling' at this years NHL trade deadline.
