In a twist of fate, Mitchell Miller's hockey journey teaches us that being released from two NHL teams doesn't spell the end of one's career.

According to reports from Russia, Miller is on the verge of inking a new contract with Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL while currently showcasing his skills in the Slovak Extraliga.

As SE has learned, Ak Bars will sign a contract with American defender Mitchell Miller. Now the 21-year-old hockey player plays for the Slovak Liptovsky Mikulas. - Sport-express.ru

Miller carries a significant amount of baggage, having initially been drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020. However, his stint with the team was short-lived, as Arizona severed all ties with Miller due to revelations about his troubling past, including severe bullying of a former classmate.

Two years later, the Boston Bruins created waves by signing Miller to an entry-level contract, only to drop him from the deal a few months later amid substantial public backlash. Despite this, Miller did receive financial compensation from Boston.

The KHL, known for embracing players whom other leagues might shy away from, currently boasts names like Brenden Leipsic, Alex Galchenyuk, and Reid Boucher on its roster.
