Goaltender Christopher Gibson has signed a PTO with the Arizona Coyotes, a team who could benefit from adding him as a third-stringer given their lack of depth. The 29-year-old spent the 2021-22 season in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers. In 14 games, he recorded a 2.80 GAA, a .907 SV% and one shutout. He's 4-5-3 in 16 NHL games with New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning, along with a 3.33 GAA and a .901 SV%.
Daniel Sprong, who signed his PTO with the Seattle Kraken, finished last season strong with the Kraken, registering six goals in 16 games. The former second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins has 46 goals and 24 assists in 202 career games, split between the Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals and Kraken.
Nate Thompson signed his PTO with the Los Angeles Kings, where he was from 2017 to 2019. The 37-year-old was originally selected in the sixth round (183rd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. The veteran has been around the league, dressing the Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, LA Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets and the Philadelphia Flyers. He has just 65 goals and 99 assists in 844 career games.
