The 2015 NHL Entry Draft was one to forget for the Boston Bruins and their fans. One of those players, taken with their three consecutive first-round picks, was forced to sign a PTO with the New Jersey Devils to keep his NHL dream alive.
As per the Devils' PR:
'' The New Jersey Devils announced today that forward Zach Senyshyn has signed a Professional Tryout contract (PTO). Senyshyn will join New Jersey when all players report to NHL camp on Wed., Sept. 21, at Prudential Center. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.''
Senyshyn was originally selected 15th overall by the Bruins at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and has appeared in 16 career games since, recording 2 goals and 1 assist. In 259 AHL games with the Providence Bruins and Belleville Senators, the 25-year-old has collected 59 goals and 54 assists.
It's safe to say he hasn't lived up to the hype of being a 15th overall NHL draft pick.
