Former NHL Enforcer Tragically Passes Away At Age 44
The former enforcer had suffered injuries from an accident two weeks ago and had succumbed.
He was reported to have passed away by the NHL Alumni Association.
The former NHL enforcer was drafted 32nd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 1998. He, however, wouldn't make his NHL debut until the 2001-2002 season with the Washington Capitals, after being dealt there in 2000.
He would split his first year between the AHL's Portland Pirates and Washington Capitals.
In four seasons with the NHL, he'd score 10 points( 8 G, 2 A) in 130 games and tallied 234 PIMs.
Peat would play with the Danbury Trashers in 2004-20025 during the lockout and would retire in 2006-2007 after playing a game with the Albany River Rats, the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils at the time.
