The Philadelphia Flyers have officially hired John Tortorella as their new head coach. The Boston native was signed to a 4-year, $4 million contract Friday morning.

Tortorella was the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets since 2015 but agreed to mutually part ways on March 21st, 2021.

One of the Tort's former players sent prayers to the Flyers players after the news of their new bench boss.

Brandon Dubinsky tweeted this out last night:

Dubinsky played in the NHL from 2006 to 2019. He spent six seasons with the New York Rangers and seven seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Tortorella was also the head coach for the Rangers from 2009 to 2013. In total, Dubinsky spent seven of his 13 NHL seasons with Tortorella as his head coach.

So, it's safe to say that he's well aware of his coaching style. Clearly, the former NHLer is not a fan of John Tortorella!
