The Vegas Golden Knights entered the season expecting to have salary cap flexibility due to injuries, but it appears maybe they couldn't have even planned for this sort of trouble. It was announced earlier this summer that Robin Lehner was going to miss the entire season after undergoing hip surgery and it was known that Shea Weber's career was likely over when the Knights acquired him. But at today's media availability Knights General Manager, Kelly McCrimmon confirmed a 3rd player was set to miss the entire season.

As per the Golden Knights Twitter:

Updates from GM Kelly McCrimmon

Mark Stone, Brendan Brisson & Peter DiLiberatore will begin camp in non-contact jerseys.

Nolan Patrick, Robin Lehner & Shea Weber will not play in the 2022-23 season.

Laurent Brossoit, Daniil Miromanov, Spencer Foo and Jakub Demek will miss training camp due to injury.

Nic Hague's contract status remains a priority for the organization.

The build up of injuries must have people questions the Golden Knights medical staff. Especially after they announced Laurent Brossoit could return in October...or January...or later. It seems as though the team that was once lovable and fun has fallen from their graces and now is in a perpetual nose dive.

With all these injuries it will be very difficult for the Knights to push for the playoffs this spring. It could already be time for the Knights to look at their first rebuild.
