From the start of the 2022 playoffs to now, Connor McDavid has undoubtedly been the best player in the NHL.
He currently sits first in the NHL in goals (41) and points (92), and second in assists (51).
McDavid is on pace to become the first player to reach 150 points in a season since Mario Lemieux did in 1995-1996.
However, the greatest to ever play the game, Wayne Gretzky, thinks there's one current player who could dominate like the Oilers captain.
''I think he's the only one who can catch 97 [McDavid].''
Gretzky was talking about on Jack Hughes of the New Jersey Devils. The 21-year-old has registered 33 goals and 31 assists in 49 games this season.
His previous career high was 56 points last season, which also came in 49 games.
