Though he won't say exactly when, Bruins Head Coach Bruce Cassidy is confident that captain Patrice Bergeron will return to the lineup sometime this week.
The Bruins are 1-1 in the two games since Bergeron's absence, blown out by Carolina 6-0 on Thursday night before posting a shutout of their own while defeating Ottawa 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
This week's schedule starts in New York on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden night as the Bruins take on the Rangers, then they visit the Islanders at the new UBS Arena in Elmont, NY on Thursday. Saturday night, the Bruins are in Ottawa for a quick rematch against the Senators.
As for the Bruins' other injured regular, Cassidy said that defenseman Matt Grzelcyk remains day-to-day.
The Bruins are currently in 4th place in the contentious Atlantic Division, but are a comfortable seven points ahead of Detroit with three games in hand for the second Wild Card position in The Eastern Conference.
