McDavid set an Oilers franchise record last night but he's still not close to Marchand in that department.
By scoring the game-winner in the Edmonton Oilers 6-5 win over the St.Louis Blues last night, Connor McDavid found the back of the net in overtime for the 12th time of his career.
His 12 overtime tallies are the most in Oilers history.
However, since entering the league back in 2015-16, only one player has scored more goals in the extra frame than the Oilers captain. That player is: Brad Marchand.
The Bruins forward has scored 13 overtime winners for the Bruins in the past seven seasons, the most among any other NHLer.
Brad Marchand's overtime heroics are nothing new. Since the feisty forward debuted in the NHL back in 2009-10, only one other player has as many OT markers than him - the league's greatest goal-scorer, Alexander Ovechkin.
Here are the top overtime goal-scorers since the 2009-10 season:
17 - Brad Marchand
17 - Alexander Ovechkin
16 - Max Pacioretty
15 - John Tavares
14 - Sidney Crosby
14 - Jonathan Toews
