Bruins aim to stay perfect at home in McAvoy's debut against the Flames

The Boston Bruins hosted the Calgary Flames at TD Garden Thursday night, trying to push their home record to a perfect 8-0-0 to start the season.

Calgary came out strong, with an opening goal from Massachusetts native Noah Hanifin. The Flames would finish we a 32-28 edge in shots. But a fabulous return from Charlie McAvoy helped the Bruins secure their eighth straight game at home.

Ullmark continued his red-hot start to the season with another outstanding performance, stopping 31 of 32 shots he faced. McAvoy had an excellent return with his first goal of the season to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead late in the second. It would wind up the game-winner after David Pastrnak sealed the deal with an empty netter.
