The Boston Bruins opened the season on a high note as they travelled to D.C. to take on Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

The B's came away with a 5-2 victory, thanks largely to the newly formed ''Czech-ing Line'', especially Pastrnak and Krejci. Those two, along with the newest Bruin, Pavel Zacha, were put together during the preseason and had instant chemistry, which has now carried into the regular season.

OUR 3 STARS:

⭐️⭐️⭐️: Linus Ullmark - 33 saves, .943 SV%, Win
⭐️⭐️: David Krejci - 1G, 2A, 17:53 TOI
⭐️: David Pastrnak - 1G, 3A, 19:03 TOI

Captain Patrice Bergeron had a strong game as well, scoring the Bruins' first goal of the game, along with four shots on net.

Some bad news came from Wednesday's action, as forward Jake Debrusk was not on the bench to start the third period and did not return to the game. He was listed with an upper-body injury from the Bruins PR.

And the goalie hugs are back!
