The Montreal Canadiensa acquired 21-year-old Kirby Dach from the Chicago Blackhawks in a draft blockbuster.
First, the Canadiens traded defensemen Alexander Romanov and the 98th overall pick to the New York Islanders in exchange for the 13th overall pick. Then, they flipped the 13th overall pick, along with the 66th overall pick, for Dach.
However, the former 3rd overall pick has been an RFA looking for a new deal all summer.
Until now, as the Canadiens officially announced:
'Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a four-year, $13.45 million contract (2022-23 to 2025-26) with forward Kirby Dach.
He will earn an average annual salary of $3.3625 million per season.''
Dach collected 9 goals and 17 assists in 70 games with the Blackhawks last season. I'm 152 career games, the Alberta native has recorded 59 points.
