It was announced last month that Vegas Golden Knights' starting goaltender Robin Lehner would be missing the entire 2022-23 NHL season.
With that news, many fans believed backup Laurent Brossoit and rookie Logan Thompson would start the season sharing the crease. Brossoit also had offseason surgery and would miss at least training camp and a few weeks to start the season.
General manager Kelly McCrimmon did his best to fix the ugly goaltending situation by acquiring Adin Hill from the San Jose Sharks last week, and now we know why.
According to Vince Sapienza of 'Fox 5 Las Vegas', the Golden Knights are not sure if Brossoit will be back in a few weeks, but possibly not until January.
With this news, it's all but certain that Vegas will start the season with Hill and Thompson as their goaltenders, with Michael Hutchinson as the third string if need be.
