During the Boston Bruins most recent game against the Calgary Flames, head coach Jim Montgomery featured a top powerplay unit with five forwards: Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Jake DeBrusk and David Krejci.

The Bruins were up 2-1 at the time and it was even more surprising because the usual powerplay quarterback Charlie McAvoy was playing his first game of the season.

Obvioulsy, Montgomery saw something he liked during training camp earlier in the fall. This wasn't the first time he tried this strategy, just the first time during a game.

Montgomery's trying out any idea that he has to see what works and what doesn't. It's a breath of fresh air to see a coach that takes risks offensively, definitely something B's fans didn't often see with Bruce Cassidy.
