New Boston Bruins head coach, Jim Montgomery, attended the Jimmy Fund in Boston today to raise money for the fight against cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Montgomery joined Andy Gresh and Rich Keefe on the Gresh and Keefe Show to discuss his plans for the first season as the B's bench boss.

The biggest early concern for the Bruins is how the team will perform without important players such as Charlie McAvoy and Brad Marchand because of offseason surgeries, mainly how Montgomery plans to deploy his top-six forward group.

On the show, he shed some light on the topic:

''I think we have really good depth at every position. Some players are going to get elevated (while Marchand, McAvoy & Grzelcyk are out of action), Some players like Jake DeBrusk & Taylor Hall are gonna be asked to play more important minutes, which is what they want.''

'I think in the overall term of things, as we hold water and we gain confidence when those other guys get back, I think we're gonna be a better team than what we were had those guys started the season with us. Now, I'd rather start with them, but we're gonna learn some things about ourselves.''
