The Bruins (47-24-5) got the best of the Penguins (43-23-11) by edging them by a 2-1 score last Saturday. The B's went on to top the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday to enter tonight's matchup on a two-game win streak.
As for the Penguins, they've been resting since their loss to the Bruins on the weekend, so they'll be firing on all cylinders once the puck drops.
Boston head coach Bruce Cassidy announced earlier today that he would be sticking with the same roster that got the best of the Blues. That means that Curtis Lazar will once again be filling in for the injured David Pastrnak on the second line.
Tomas Nosek will remain as the fourth line center, skating in between veteran Nick Foligno and rookie Marc McLaughlin.
With the team rolling with the same d-core as last game, defenseman Josh Brown will once again be watching from the press box, while Hampus Lindholm has yet to return from his injury.
Jeremy Swayman (22-12-3) gets another start for the Bruins with teammate Linus Ullmark still sidelined, and he'll get to face off against Casey DeSmith (8-5-5) with Pens regular starter Tristan Jarry also dealing with an injury of his own.
It is to be noted that the Bruins also announced they expect Pastrnak, Lindholm and Ullmark to rejoin their teammates over the next three regular season games.
With no other roster changes expected during warmups, here are the Bruins' projected lines for tonight:
Brad Marchand Patrice Bergeron Jake Debrusk
Taylor Hall Erik Haula Curtis Lazar
Trent Frederic Charlie Coyle Craig Smith
Nick Foligno Tomas Nosek Marc McLaughlin
Matthew Grzelcyk Charlie McAvoy
Mike Reilly Brandon Carlo
Derek Forbort Connor Clifton
Jeremy Swayman
Troy Grosenick
Puck drop for the Penguins-Bruins game is scheduled for 7pm ET at Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena.
