It will be an important game for winger Nick Foligno, who will be presented with a silver stick before puck drop after playing in the 1000th game of his career earlier last month.
With the Columbus Blue Jackets set to visit TD Garden tonight, the B's decided to hold off Foligno's ceremony so that he could celebrate in front of both his home fans and former teammates.
After sitting out last game with an injury, the Bruins made the annoucement earlier today that Foligno was obviously drawing back into the lineup to face the Jackets. Craig Smith is also back after missing Thursday's game with an illness, which means that forwards Anton Blidh and local kid Marc McLaughlin are back in the press box.
On the backend, the first two pairs remain intact while the third pairing will consist of Derek Forbort and Mike Reilly tonight, with newcomer Josh Smith and surprise scratch Connor Clifton will sit out.
The Bruins will send Jeremy Swayman (19-9-3) between the pipes, with the 23-year-old rookie netminder set to face-off against Latvian netminder Elvis Merzlikins (22-17-5).
The Bruins (42-2-5) and Blue Jackets (28-25-3) crossed paths nearly one month ago, on March 5, a game that Boston won by a 5-4 score in the shootout.
With no last minute changes expected, here's what the Bruins lines should look like to kick things off against Columbus:
Brad Marchand Patrice Bergeron Jake Debrusk
Taylor Hall Erik Haula David Pastrnak
Trent Frederic Charlie Coyle Craig Smith
Nick Foligno Tomas Nosek Curtis Lazar
Hampus Lindholm Charlie McAvoy
Matthew Grzelcyk Brandon Carlo
Derek Forbort Mike Reilly
Jeremy Swayman
Linus Ullmark
Puck drop for the Blue Jackets and Bruins game is scheduled for 7pm ET, at Boston's TD Garden.
