With a 5-2 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night, Linus Ullmark tied Tim Thomas for a franchise record by a goaltender.

As per NHL Stats:

Linus Ullmark became the second goaltender in franchise history to earn wins during each of his first eight decisions in a season, joining Tim Thomas (8-0-0 in 2010-11). The longest such run in NHL history is 12, achieved by Ray Emery with Chicago in 2012-13.

The 29-year-old is 8-0-0 to start this season with a 2.19 goals-against-average and a .932 save percentage. Besides one shaky outing against the Pittsburgh Penguins recently, where he got pulled and came back in, Ullmark has been incredible so far.

Ullmark will likely start again on Saturday when the Bruins visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jim Montgomery is leaning that way with Jeremy Swayman injured and facing a solid Maple Leafs team.
