Major announcement regarding the NHL playoffs being delayed
A major announcement was made regarding the possibility of game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals being delayed.
It was announced that the Oilers may have the upper hand heading into game 3, due to the Florida Panthers flight being delayed because of bad weather.
An insider reported that the Panthers were able to catch a flight last night to Edmonton around 4:30 PM Eastern time. The Oilers might have the upper hand heading into game 3 due to how late the Panthers arrived to Edmonton, they had a 6 hour flight and only got there closer to 10 PM if not later.
Hearing the Panthers plane just took off after several delays in South Florida. They won't get into Edmonton until Wednesday night.
Thursday has an early puck drop, 6:20 MT.
The Oilers flew Tuesday and will get two full nights at home ahead of Game 3.
The Panthers now face the challenge of not being as rested as the Oilers, but they still hold the upper hand in leading the series as they are leading 2-0 in the series right now.
The Panthers also might be without their captain in Aleksander Barkov as he took a hit to the face from Leon Draisaitl in game two, and head coach Paul Maurice has yet to give an update on his status heading into game three.
Do you think the Edmonton Oilers have a chance at coming back in this series?
