On Sunday afternoon, Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos tried to be the first the break the Jakob Chychrun trade, as he sent out the following tweet.
Sounding like a Jakob Chychrun @LAKings @ArizonaCoyotes trade centered around 2021 8th overall pick Brandt Clarke. #RealKyperandBourne The tweet by Kypreos made it seem like a deal between the Los Angeles Kings and Arizona Coyotes was all but confirmed.
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, who shared the following regarding the situation late last night:
Halftime hockey update: FWIW, I'm hearing the Kings have informed Brandt Clarke he is not being traded. Take it away, Rihanna...
A trade between the two teams is definitely still possible, just sounds like it won't include Clarke from the Kings.
Just goes to show that you shouldn't trust any insider nowadays, until something is confirmed anyways.
