Defenseman Mike Reilly skated with the Providence Bruins Friday night, which was his first AHL game since 2017, and he looked exactly how you'd expect. Like an NHLer playing against AHLers.
Although Providence dropped a 4-2 decision to the Leigh Valley Phantoms, Reilly dominated with one goal, one assist and six shots, being named the second star of the game.
As per Mark Allred of BlackNGold Hockey:
''Last night the 6′-1'' 198-pound Reilly was by far the better Providence player in front of the home crowd showcasing his skills to fans and other NHL teams looking for defensive help.''
Like Allred noted, there was for sure NHL scouts in the building last night, as Boston is working hard on facilitating a trade for Reilly.
