Bruins nation has been holding their collective breath since the news that Brad Marchand wasn't returning for the third period last night.
Marchand left the game late in the second period with what the team called a lower body injury (more on that HERE).
Now, Jim Montgomery has provided an update on the veteran winger. The Bruins bench boss appeared on the Touched and Rich Morning Show on Friday:
Rich: 'So last night was an absolute ass-kicking. The team looks great! They're steamrolling! But there was, of course, the unfortunate moment when Brad Marchand left the game Thursday night. What do you know about Brad? How's he doing right now?''
Montgomery: 'Yeah, Brad was feeling pretty good after the game. It was precautionary that he didn't go back and play. So, now, we're expecting him to be available to play tomorrow against the New York Rangers.'
Perhaps Marchand was still feeling the effects of have his ankle cut by Darnell Nurse's skate on Monday in Edmonton.
A big sigh of relief for Bruins fans everywhere!
