The NHL Player Safety just confirmed Boston Bruins forwards Oliver Wahlstrom's suspension fate after being ejected for a dangerous hit.

The NHL is one of the most physical sports to be played, but yesterday Oliver Wahlstrom took it a bit too far and faced some consequences for his actions against the Washington Capitals.

The Boston Bruins were already a man down after David Pastrnak left the game in the second period due to an injury and would not return.

UPDATE: David Pastrnak (upper-body) is unlikely to return to tonight's game.

Just 10 seconds into the third period things got worse for the Boston Bruins as Oliver Wahlstrom got ejected for boarding Capitals player Martin Fehervary from behind. Originally he was called for a major penalty, but the officials ended up reviewing the play, and the call stood.

Oliver Wahlstrom was handed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding.

Now the NHL Player Safety has made an official decision on Oliver Wahlstrom. Since he was ejected, the league automatically reviews the play to see if it's deemed suspendable and a official decision has been made.

Since it is officially past the 5 p.m. deadline, it appears that the NHL Player Safety will not be suspending Bruins forward Oliver Wahlstrom.
