On Tuesday, June 7th, the Montreal Canadiens hired women's hockey star Marie-Philip Poulin as a player development consultant.

Poulin is a three-time Olympic gold medalist representing her home country of Canada. Many call her "Captain Clutch" because of her tendency to score the most important goals, but she could very well be called "Captain Canada" given her prowess with the national team at the Olympics, including 35 points in 22 games.

While playing for Boston University in the NCAA, Poulin had 81 goals and 100 assists in 111 games.

She had this to say at her first media coverage with the team:

"I think it's very exciting. I'm not the only one to step into the NHL world here; I am not the only woman. I think I just tried to find the time to follow the path of many women who have been there before me. But obviously, it's exciting here in Montreal. I was talking with my family today and they were like, 'Do you realize you're with the Montreal Canadiens?' That shook me up a bit. It's very exciting, not only for me, but hopefully it will open more doors for the next generation to get more women involved in the National Hockey League."
