The 2022 Stanley Cup Final will be the first since 1979 that won't feature an NHL player that was once a teammate of legend Jaromir Jagr.
The streak comes to an end after 41 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers being eliminated on Monday night by the Colorado Avalanche. Oilers defenseman Brett Kulak and goaltender Mike Smith both played with Jagr on the Calgary Flames during the 2017-18 NHL season.
Only four of the 16 teams that made the 2022 playoffs didn't have a teammate of Jagr's at some pont, and three of them made the Conference Finals. Those teams are the Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Los Angeles Kings.
What a crazy stat! it goes to show how long and amazing of a career the Jagr put together, and how many players he's played with along the way.
