The Toronto Maple Leafs were once again knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the first-round.
This time at the hands of back-to-back champion Tampa Bay Lightning. The Maple Leafs held a 3-2 series lead after game five, with two chances to close out the series against the Lightning. They lost game six 4-3 in overtime on Thursday night in Tampa and 2-1 Saturday back home in Toronto.
The Maple Leafs have now lost 10 straight opportunities to clinch a playoff series, dating back to game seven of the 2004 Conference Quarterfinals. Only the Jets/Coyotes franchise from 1990-2012 have lost more consecutive series-clinching games in NHL history with 13.
It appears that fans in Toronto have had enough with the first-round exits from the postseason, and clearly of each other too.
A fight between a few Leafs' fans was caught on video after the teams devastating game seven loss.
