Brad Marchand has been teammates with Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron since he entered the league in 2009-10. The two have spent 13 seasons together, over 130 NHL playoff games, and were huge pieces to the Bruins Stanley Cup Championship in 2011.

With the uncertainty of Bergeron's future now the main focal point within the Bruins' organization, Marchand was asked about what he thinks his captain and linemate will do.

"That's why this one probably hurts more, the unknown for next year with him ... He's done so much for this group and sacrificed so much that it would have been nice to make a good run for him. So it's disappointing ... He's the backbone of our team. Obviously, the biggest part of our team. We want him to come back. But whatever happens, he's earned the right to make whatever decision he wants and take the time that he needs. I guess time will tell."

The two have obviously grown very close over their years spent together, anchoring the top line of the Boston Bruins and climbing up the franchise's all-time leaderboards one by one.

A lot of the talk about Bergeron is just media trying to make a splash and get clicks, but the fact that someone as close to the captain as Marchand, appears worried that there's a chance it was his last game, could mean there's a little more something going on behind the scenes.
