Connor McDavid is the best hockey player in the world right now.
There was doubt about his recent playoff struggles in past years, but he shut all the critics up with his record-breaking performance in the 2022 playoffs. Even though he and the Edmonton Oilers were swept in the Western Conference Final by the Colorado Avalanche, McDavid still led the playoff point race with 33 points in just 16 games.
The Oilers captain was a threat in all three series he appeared in, but the five-game series in the Battle of Alberta against the Calgary Flames was absolute domination by McDavid.
