The Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win in all sports.

Not many players are lucky enough to get their names etched into the side of it during their NHL careers.

Wayne Gretzky, of course, was the greatest of all time and won the Stanley Cup four times with the Edmonton Oilers in their dynasty days of the 1980s. Gretzky is now an analyst with NHL on TNT, and the panel shared some interesting stories on Thursday evening.

The panel consists of the host Liam McHugh and former NHLers Paul Bissonette, Wayne Gretzky, Rick Tocchet and Anson Carter. Gretzky and Tocchet were the only two to win the Stanley Cup during their careers, and they told some stories of their days with it.

Near the end of the segment, Gretzky tells an exciting story of what the Edmonton Oilers did with the Stanley Cup when they won for the fourth time in five years.

Wayne Gretzky's story is pretty amazing to hear about a time when players didn't get "their day with the cup" like every player does now, and how they would just call the Hall of Fame and tell them to bring it for the day.
