NHL Player Safety announces questionable punishment for Evgeny Kuznetsov

As we shared in a recent article, Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov would be hearing from the league about a blatant ''intent to injure'' in last night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

The NHL's Player Safety Department announced Kuznetsov's punishment earlier today. Is it enough?
''Washington's Evgeny Kuznetsov has been suspended for one game for High-sticking Vancouver's Kyle Burroughs.'' This isn't the first time Kuznetsov blatantly high-sticked an opponent. Last year in the playoffs, he caught Noel Acciari up high during a post-whistle scrum. He received a $5,000 fine then.
The 30-year-old, who has four assists through four games this season, will miss the Capitals' next game on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.
