As we shared in a recent article, Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov would be hearing from the league about a blatant ''intent to injure'' in last night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Re-watch it here:
The NHL's Player Safety Department announced Kuznetsov's punishment earlier today. Is it enough?
''Washington's Evgeny Kuznetsov has been suspended for one game for High-sticking Vancouver's Kyle Burroughs.'' This isn't the first time Kuznetsov blatantly high-sticked an opponent. Last year in the playoffs, he caught Noel Acciari up high during a post-whistle scrum. He received a $5,000 fine then.
The 30-year-old, who has four assists through four games this season, will miss the Capitals' next game on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.
