Tanner Jeannot has received the first major suspension of the year from the NHL Player Safety following a dangerous headshot on Brock Boeser.

During last nights game that saw the Los Angeles Kings taking on the Vancouver Canucks we saw Tanner Jeannot throw one of the dirties hits of the year so far.

Brock Boeser was making a play in the middle of the ice when he took a blindside hit to the head by Kings forward Tanner Jeannot.

Elliotte Friedman ended up revealing that since Tanner Jeannot was given a match penalty, he would automatically have a hearing from the league on the hit.

Canucks have announced Boeser will not return. Match penalty means automatic NHL review

Today Jeannot had his hearing, and Elliotte Friedman along with NHL Player Safety revealed that he will face a three game suspension, being the first major one handed out this year.

Sounds like 3 games for Tanner Jeannot

Los Angeles' Tanner Jeannot has been suspended for three games for an illegal check to the head against Vancouver's Brock Boeser.

The NHL has stated that they want to get rid of these types of hits, and the only way to do so is by punishing players that decide to throw them.

The NHL Player Safety made the right call suspending Tanner Jeannot, as there is no room for this type of play in the game anymore.

Here is the hit that got Jeannot suspended:
