NHL prospect laid motionless for over 13 minutes after dirty hit
During an AHL game last night between the Abbotsford Canucks and Bakersfield Condors, Vancouver prospect Jack Rathbone was hit from behind into the end boards. Rathbone fell awkwardly to the ice and he laid immediately motionless.
Rathbone laid motionless for over 13 minutes as medical staff from both team worked on him.
Rathbone was removed from the ice on a stretcher after 15 minutes. Both teams saluted Rathbone as he was taken to a waiting ambulance.
Making the situation even scarier, Rathbone did not deliver the patented thumbs up to the crowd as he remained motionless the entire time while on the stretcher.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jack Rathbone.
